People ask how our wedding went. Our wedding was absolutely beautiful and wonderful, but let's say there were a few exciting hiccups (nothing ever goes quite as planned)!

We got married on a beautiful historic venue on the San Antonio Riverwalk. Since we had an outdoor gazebo garden for the ceremony, we held our breaths the week prior as the weather forecast for Monday through Friday predicted (and rained) nothing but constant thunderstorms!

Luckily Saturday the gorgeous day couldn't have been more perfect for the ceremony. We held cocktail hour (featuring 312 beer from the local Chicago brewery - our wedding date is Chicago's area code - and Texas Hill Country wines) in the courtyard gardens. The reception was held inside a gorgeous European chapel with a giant wedding cake, a photobooth, and a great DJ.
The elegance was balanced plenty of goofiness such as our first dance to Pharell's Happy and a nod to Pixar's Up! In the end, our romantic getaway was a riverbarge that took us right to our wedding suite along the San Antonio Riverwalk!

Of course we had balloons, my famous doodles/cartoons, bright colors (coral and light blue!) and whimsy. The perks of being an artist is that you get to make your own decorations, invitations, and signs exactly how you want it - the hardest part is coming up with "the vision," but the originality is so worth it!
Sure there were mishaps (wrong flowers, emergency wedding dress alterations, waking up the morning of to an email saying the original makeup artist/hair stylist couldn't come, forgotten decorations, etc), but the wedding overall went smoothly, and we had a blast. There's nothing like being surrounded by loved ones who travel all over to celebrate the big day! And everyone ate lots of delicious food and partied to the end of the night (yay!).
With all the dinner, drinks, and dancing, our guests said it was the most beautiful, funnest, and happiest wedding they've ever been to. Happy guests + marrying B = a pretty rad day!
These white chocolate cranberry cookies (from Allrecipes) are another flavor of cookies we used for our wedding favors (find out how my sister/maid of honor baked five hundred cookies!). This batch was very popular among the many cousins.

PS. those are pink ombre tassles in the background which I made for our giant 36 inch balloons :)

White Chocolate Cranberry Cookies

Ingredients
1/2 cup butter softened
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
1 egg
1 tablespoon brandy
1 1/2 cup all purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
3/4 cup white chocolate chips
1 cup craisins/dried cranberries

Directions
Preheat Oven to 375 degrees F.

In large bowl, cream together butter and sugars until smooth. Beat in egg & brandy. Combine flour and baking soda & stir into sugar mixture. Mix in chocolate chips & craisins. Drop by heaping spoonfuls.

Bake 8-10 min. For best results take them out while they're still doughy. Cool for 1 min before transferring.
